Sadly we
lost Justin on August 17, 2007! GOD SPEED JUSTIN!!!! We do not know the cause of his death . . . tests indicate he was negative for Lepto, any tick borne diseases, and Addison's. He spent a week at the University of Illinois and they sent him home with their hands in the air. He was in kidney failure . . . the only thing we didn't do was a biopsy on his kidneys for cancer. We were unable to risk a biopsy because his platelet count was too low. No amount of prednisone or antibiotics worked. He was only 7 1/2 yrs old! |

With Justin's limited time out as a Special, primarily at Specialties he acquired 3 Select Award of Merits, two were at the AWC North Central Specialty in 2003 and 2004 under breeder/judges Russell McFadden and Bettie Stites and the third one at the Midwest Specialty in 2003 under breeder/judge Ms Shelley Hennessy . In September 2006 he was brought out again and was awarded Best of Breed at the AWC Southern Supported Specialty under breeder/judge Joyce Geshweiler. Thanks to all the judges that gave this handsome man a piece of history! Perry and Thelma gave Justin the best of both. He has the soundness, front assembly and ooey gooey sweet temperament of his father, and the elegance and beautiful head and eye of his mother. Justin was Baer tested, he was cerfed yearly, and he was Cardiac tested - all tests were clear at the time of his death at 7 1/2 yrs old. |
